Jeffrey H. Bernson, CCIM, ALC
PROFILE
Jeff has served a diverse clientele for almost forty years including some clients for almost two decades. In December of 2014 Jeff reopened his company, JHB Realty Advisors, Inc. after 11 years with Newmark Grubb ACRES and its predecessors. Understanding and implementing a strategic plan of acquisition, entitlement, development and disposition of real estate assets has been the base of his business model.
Jeff’s knowledge in superfund and brownfield sites has proven invaluable when working with clients’ legal and environmental professionals to navigate EPA and State Departments of Environmental Quality rules and regulations. Jeff has also worked with the Army Corps of Engineers, in conjunction with environmental team members, to procure favorable 404 permitting and wetlands mitigation. The end goal of any investment is to balance projected returns against qualifiable, quantifiable, and acceptable risk, which Jeff has been able to assist his clients in achieving.
Since 1979 Jeff’s primary focus has been in land and working with developers and investors in the acquisition, entitlement, development or redevelopment, and disposition of land and its final use. In this process Jeff has gained experience the entitlement process from beginning to end. Over the years Jeff has represented either as a broker or a consultant a diverse clientele of public pension funds, school districts, cities, developers, national REIT’s, private estates and trusts, and high net worth individuals.

Whitney Bernson

PROFILE
Whitney’s past experience has enabled him to evolve into a problem solver in high risk and stressful situations. He served in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman and was able to advance in rank quickly by separating himself as a critical leader with proven success on and off the battlefield. With multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and hundreds of combat missions conducted, completing the mission was always the priority, regardless of what is was, no matter how difficult. Because of his efforts he received multiple awards including a Purple Heart and was part of a Unit that earned two Valorous Unit Awards, which are unit equivalent to a Silver Star. It was in the Army that Whitney really developed strong core values and the importance of loyalty and honesty.
Whitney also comes from an Investment Banking background where he had the opportunity to work for Goldman Sachs and Royal Bank of Scotland. The knowledge and experience gained with these financial institutions has enabled him to critically think through situations and identify multiple exit strategies to minimize client risk and maximize returns. Whitney’s number one goal is client satisfaction. He prides himself on being detail-oriented and performs tasks in a timely manner saving his clients both time and money.
Whitney is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Utah. The program has provided him with an advanced understanding of current market conditions as well as a strong educational foundation regarding market analysis, due diligence, financial modeling, land use issues and capital markets. Current responsibilities focus on information technology, client support, and property research and analysis.
